Ladakh, in the northernmost part of India, a part of Jammu and Kashmir, and yet an Autonomous Region, has been a long-time favourite travel destination of mine. I have visited the place twice, in two different seasons, both the times away from the so-called tourist season, and enjoyed the awesome beauty of the place to the core.
I have seen the place through the changing seasons, and got mesmerised. But of all the seasons, I loved the end of winter the most, April in fact. Although that’s summer in almost all the parts of the country, in Ladakh, it’s the fag end of winter. And its snow everywhere, at some places almost a man deep.
